Tenant Relations Officer

The George Gordon First Nation (GGFN) Housing Department oversees all of the George Gordon First Nations residential housing needs. They are responsible for the maintenance, construction and management of all GGFN鈥檚 200+ housing assets. Home minor or major maintenance, renovations, and construction also fall within this area. The department also works with several GGFN departments to assist in combating the social, emergency, and safety issues of housing occupants.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The purpose of the position is to assist and provide office support to the Housing Manager and team. This position provides housing customer service to all tenants, contractors, and the housing team. They will respond to general inquiries on a wide range of housing related issues, topics, and notices. This will involve making tenant agreements and arrangements in respect to tenant accounts and being of support to enable the Housing Department to meet its objectives.
鈥reeting day-to-day visitors in the housing office, determine the nature of their visit, and direct them accordingly.
鈥nswer telephone calls and professionally respond to inquiries with a customer service orientation, which may include redirecting and taking messages where appropriate.
鈥ork with tenants and housing occupants to resolve concerns and complaints, while maintaining up-to-date records of client interactions and situations addressed.
鈥earn, implement, maintain and enter data into a housing infrastructure and database system.
鈥eneral office and reception duties with some client counselling.

鈥aintain a record of required housing maintenance, which includes assessing and prioritizing work to be assigned to repair and maintenance workers and contractors.
鈥oordinate all move-ins and move-outs, including setting dates, inspections, and ensuring related documentation is in place.
鈥eet with tenants to review, explain, and finalize their agreements, ensuring understanding and compliance.
鈥reate and track all correspondence, conduct research, close out files, and update the archival system, and overall maintain functional filing systems.
鈥nsure GGFN housing policies and by-laws are consistently implemented and enforced throughout the community.
鈥rovides coverage in the absence of the Housing Manager, which may include acting as a resource for the Housing Authority.
鈥ork closely with the Public Works manager and team when collaborations are needed or as directed.
鈥ny other additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
鈥 secondary high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
鈥xperience in tenant relations or in an office setting is beneficial.
鈥roficiency in computer software programs such as Microsoft Office.
鈥xcellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
鈥trong communication and interpersonal capabilities, characterized by professionalism and a compassionate approach to supporting vulnerable individuals.
鈥roficient in problem-solving and conflict resolution, fostering respectful, diplomatic interactions and excellent customer service.
鈥ossess a valid Saskatchewan class five (5) driver鈥檚 license and reliable transportation to visit tenants.
鈥pplicants must provide a criminal record and vulnerable sector check.

Salary will be based on experience, training, and education.
