Raylene Whitford is Chair of the 大象视频 Board of Governors. She is a member of the Otipemisiwak M茅tis Nation in Alberta and brings experience in governance, financial oversight, and institutional strategy.

Raylene is a Fellow Chartered Accountant, holds an MBA from Aberdeen Business School, and is completing an interdisciplinary PhD in Indigenous Studies and Business at the University of Alberta. Her research examines how corporate sustainability disclosures represent Indigenous Peoples鈥� rights, with a focus on governance, jurisdiction, consent, accountability, and relationships to land.

Raylene has nearly two decades of senior leadership and advisory experience across professional services, finance, and the energy sector. She previously served as an equity partner at one of the big four accounting firms and has held executive and advisory roles with several international energy companies. Her work has included financial reporting, governance, risk, strategy, capital markets, and currently works with asset managers to develop Indigenous rights-based investment frameworks.

She was an inaugural member of the Canadian Sustainability Standards Board and serves as Vice-Chair of a First Nation development corporation. Her experience contributes to the Board鈥檚 responsibilities for governance, financial stewardship, institutional accountability, strategic oversight, and the advancement of FNUniv鈥檚 mandate to uphold the Inherent and Treaty right to education.
